At this time, we anticipate that demolition and excavation at our building's main, west entrance will begin on Monday, Oct. 14. We are still awaiting final approval of our building permit. If construction is able to begin on Oct. 14, then Sunday, Oct. 20 will be the first time that we will need to use alternate entrances to enter the church for our Sunday service. (The west doors and the north tower door are expected to be inaccessible.) Entrances on the east side of the building will need to be used on Sundays. We plan to worship in the Sanctuary on the main floor. After the service, our fellowship and refreshments time - along with Sunday School and Bible Class - will be in the basement. When you arrive on Sunday, for those who can walk two (internal) flights of stairs, you can come in through an unmarked door that is on the east side of the building and toward the north end (close to the north parking lot). There will be a volunteer at this door to welcome you and direct you up the stairs (you'll enter the sanctuary through the door by the pulpit). The Preschool door on the east side of the building (close to McDonald's) will also be available and staffed by a volunteer. There are no stairs at this entrance. We have wheelchairs and volunteers to help push anyone who needs a bit of extra help to get down the long, internal hallway. Chair lifts will also be staffed by volunteers to help you ride up to the main level & sanctuary. We're all looking forward to the start of construction and renovation but there will be changes to our typical routines. We plan to share further details (and offer a refresher on parking) in a presentation after the Oct. 13 worship service. Thank you for your patience and for your prayers for safety and smooth operations during the construction period.
